About us

One word.
Two homes.

"Cangerian" is what happens when Canadian and Nigerian stop being two separate identities and become one lived experience. We built this brand so no one has to figure that experience out alone.

Our mission

To be the trusted home of the Nigerian-Canadian community — where newcomers find their footing, established Cangerians give back, and the culture thrives on both sides of the Atlantic.

Why we exist

🛬

The landing is hard

Over 20,000 Nigerians became Canadian permanent residents in 2024 alone. Most arrive brilliant and qualified — and still spend their first year lost in systems nobody explained.

🧭

The knowledge exists

Every question a newcomer has, some Cangerian has already answered with lived experience. It's just scattered across WhatsApp groups and word of mouth. We're organizing it.

🔥

The culture deserves a stage

Nigerian-Canadians are building, creating, and leading across this country. Cangerian tells those stories loudly and proudly.

Values

How we move

Community over clout

Every product decision starts with "does this actually help a Cangerian?" — not "does this go viral?"

Honest information

Real costs, real timelines, real difficulty. We'd rather you be prepared than impressed.

Licensed where it matters

Immigration, legal, and tax advice comes only from licensed professionals in our partner network. No shortcuts with people's futures.

Both flags, full volume

We're not diluting either identity. Jollof at the cookout, toque in the winter, and no apologies for either.

Build this with us

We're looking for mentors, storytellers, service partners, and sponsors who believe in this community.
